Vlad's story began in 2019 when he went to first grade. After just three weeks, the family's life was turned upside down. Vlad had a severe stomach ache and a fever, after which his mother took him to the polyclinic, from where they were hastily discharged. The therapy prescribed by the doctor did not help, and his condition worsened. His mother took Vlad to the infectious disease department, from where he was transferred to the neurological department because of headaches, but after 3 days Vlad fell into a coma.

There was no limit to his mother's horror, and the doctors were throwing up their hands even after a telemedicine consultation with the largest multidisciplinary children's clinic. In 1.5 months Vlad traveled 11 hours by resuscitation vehicle to Moscow with a fever, on a ventilator and a probe catheter. But after many tests and doctors' examinations the cause of Vlad's condition was not determined. But the consequences were obvious: due to hypoxia, the boy's movement and speech were impaired, and his limbs were deformed.

Vlad has been through a lot during these 5 years. But he has not given up and continues to fight for his future, in which, perhaps, one day everything will be the same as before: playing with friends and carefree.

Vlad's mom, Natalia, has fully devoted herself to caring for her son, while his dad had to start his own business. The family's income is small, everything is spent on Vlad's treatment and rehabilitation.

Vlad is now receiving immunoglobulin therapy and is gradually recovering. But for the next step, he is in dire need of an SPML surgery with Dr. Bernius. It will give the boy the opportunity to get up from his wheelchair and walk independently.
