Salomiia is a girl from Moldova (city of Chadyr-Lunga). She is growing up in a large and friendly family. She was the third of nine children born to her parents. Salomiia grew and developed according to her age throughout her life, but in 2018, she began to have dangerous seizures: sudden weakness in her legs, after which the girl loses consciousness and faints. There are no precursors to the seizures. They always happen unexpectedly.<\/span><\/p>\n

For 6 long years, her parents searched for a way to cure their daughter, but no doctor in Moldova could diagnose Salomia correctly. This was only recently achieved thanks to the help of Professor Nadia Khan. Salomia has Moyamoya disease, a treacherous brain condition that occurs when the walls of the internal carotid arteries\u2014the vessels that supply blood to the most important areas of the brain\u2014thicken and narrow. As a result, blood flow to the brain decreases, which subsequently leads to strokes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Salomeia has already had one stroke, which significantly affected her gait. To prevent another one, the girl urgently needs surgery. Doctors in Moldova cannot help Salomeia; many of them have never even heard of moyamoya disease. Her only chance of survival is expensive surgical treatment with Professor Nadia Khan in<\/span>\u00a0Children<\/b>\u2019<\/span>s<\/b>\u00a0hospital<\/b>\u00a0Moyamoya disease<\/b>\u00a0Center<\/b>\u00a0(Switzerland, Zurich)<\/span><\/b>. But for a large family from Moldova<\/span>\u00a0200,000 euros<\/span><\/b>\u00a0This is an absolutely unbearable sum for my daughter's treatment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thanks to your kind hearts and the help of one generous wizard, we were able to raise the entire amount needed for Salomiia's treatment. Thank you so much, friends!
\nFebruary 21, 2025<\/b><\/span>\u00a0\u0432<\/span>\u00a0Children<\/b>\u2019<\/span>s<\/b>\u00a0Hospital<\/b>\u00a0Moyamoya disease<\/b>\u00a0Center<\/b>\u00a0Professor Nadia Khan performed Salomia's life-saving surgery on the blood vessels of her brain. Of 6 vessels, 5 were affected. A stroke could have happened at any moment. Salomia's left and right midbrain arteries were operated on. The surgery lasted 11 hours and was successful.<\/span><\/p>\n
