She was born with a congenital heart defect and a number of other serious diseases: thrombophilia, facial hemangioma (requiring surgery) and complex vascular malformation of the neck and brain. At the age of two and a half, she suffered a stroke.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After an examination at the Burdenko Research Institute, doctors recommended going to the specialized Children's Hospital Moyamoya Center in Zurich (Switzerland). The specialists there identified a rare association of PHACE syndrome in Dasha.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its name is an acronym of the first letters of the traits:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Posterior fossa<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) - malformation of the posterior cranial fossa,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">H (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hemangioma<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) - hemangiomas,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Arterial lesions<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) - arterial anomalies,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">C (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cardiac abnormalities<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) is a heart defect,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">E (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eye anomalies<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) - eye anomalies.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dasha showed three of the five signs. In addition, another rare syndrome was diagnosed - \u00abstealing syndrome\u00bb, in which the body \u00abredirects\u00bb blood from the head, which can lead to dangerous consequences.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To minimize the risk of recurrent stroke, a consilium of specialists from a cardiac surgeon, a vascular surgeon, a vascular neurosurgeon and a radiologist developed a three-stage surgery plan. All stages have been successfully performed, with the last surgery taking place in February 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the summer of 2023, it was time for a scheduled postoperative follow-up. Its cost amounted to 60,000 \u20ac. Our foundation opened a partial collection for 20,000 \u20ac and thanks to your kind hearts we were able to help Dasha in time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On August 18, 2023, at Children's Hospital Moyamoya Center, Daria underwent a comprehensive examination that confirmed successful treatment results.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thank you, friends, for giving the girl a chance to live a full life and not be afraid for her tomorrow.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Daria Kudrina is from the city of Likhoslavl (Tver region, Russia).
