The parents' happiness was unrivaled!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But unfortunately, exactly three months later, Sophia suddenly started having epileptic seizures, which divided the family's life into \u00abbefore\u00bb and \u00abafter\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first four years were very difficult for the family. They visited the best clinics and medical institutions in Russia - they went from local doctors in Surgut to specialists in Nizhnevartovsk and Tyumen, they visited examinations and consultations in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The parents tried nineteen different drugs and their combinations, including powerful hormone therapy. But nothing gave any results.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One day, thanks to kind-hearted and responsive people, Sofia managed to get treatment at Sch\u00f6n Klinik in Germany. There, the girl underwent surgery, after which her condition improved significantly: the number of seizures decreased, and Sofia finally began to develop fully. Her parents had dreamed of this for many years and hoped that the worst was over.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But the results of the new examination showed that it was too early to put an end to the story of her daughter's fight for her health. The main focus that was threatening Sofia's life was insensitive to medication and had to be removed with an invasive stereo-EEG with navigation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thanks to kind hearts, we managed to raise - together with another charity - 90,156 \u20ac for Sonia's treatment. On October 20, 2021, the girl underwent the first stage of surgery to remove the epilepsy focus - it was successful. The EEG of the brain showed improvements at 80%.
