On October 20, the girl underwent the first stage of surgery to remove the epilepsy focus. It was successful, and today it was possible to evaluate its results.
Brain EEG shows improvement on 80%.
Dr. Russey and Dr. Oliver consider this figure to be very good. But they decided to postpone the second stage of the operation until Sonia has fully recovered. Right now, the girl has some post-operative swelling. It will take time for it to go away completely.
Already tomorrow Sofia and her mom Oksana will fly back home, where they will gain new strength before the long-awaited victory.
A date for the second surgery will be set in January.
