My favorite part of our job: the good news from Together Forever's mentees. Today they came to us from Polina Bashkova from Kazakhstan.
Polina has spina bifida (split spine). A year ago, thanks to our joint efforts, the girl was able to avoid the irreversible consequences of the insidious diagnosis. Surgical treatment with Dr. Shimon Rohkind saved Polina from disability and significantly changed her life for the better. As rehabilitation after the surgery, the girl needed to swim, and it seems that this sport has become Polina's favorite.
The girl takes part in swimming competitions and takes first places. We are sincerely happy for Polina and wish her more victories on her way. On August 23, Polina will undergo the first stage of orthopedic surgery at the Republican Children's Hospital in Almaty. May everything be successful.
