Thanks to the foundation's help, last year Salome underwent two cerebrovascular surgeries, during which 5 blood vessels affected by Moyamoya disease were operated on. Doctors checked how the shunts are working, how the body is regenerating blood vessels, whether the brain has sufficient blood circulation, and assessed the condition of the only unoperated vessel.
The results exceeded all expectations. The body independently formed many new vessels, blood circulation improved significantly, and the only unoperated vessel is healthy—the disease did not reach it.
The seizures the girl had before treatment have completely disappeared. Her legs no longer give out, and there are no more falls. Salomia has become significantly more active, and it is easier for her to concentrate at school. And most importantly, the constant fear that a seizure could happen at any moment is gone.
