Alena
Lisunova
In her ten years, Alena has undergone 16 brain surgeries and spent half her life in neurosurgical intensive care. The girl's life depends entirely on the work of a special shunt - an artificial system of tubes and a pump through which cerebrospinal fluid is drained from the head. Alena has suffered from shunt-dependent hydrocephalus and cerebral palsy since birth as a result of severe birth trauma.
Despite her health problems, the girl read, wrote well and studied in a specialized school. In June 2018, thanks to your support, Alena was successfully diagnosed in the Israeli clinic Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov). The girl's shunt system was reprogrammed and is now working well. Fortunately, no surgery to replace the shunt was required.
Previously, the girl had already undergone several courses, which gave very good results, thanks to the correction of traumas resulting from childbirth. However, given the complications from neurosurgical problems, Alena needs constant neurorehabilitation. The girl was able to undergo such a course of special sessions at the International Medical Rehabilitation Clinic in Cyprus ICMR (Cyprus)Ltd.
Thanks to your support we managed to raise 3,672 € to pay for the treatment. Alena successfully completed the rehabilitation course in May 2019.
Parents' appreciation
We, the Lisunov family, thank from the bottom of our hearts the Together Forever Foundation, which helped us undergo a very important treatment. At the International Medical Rehabilitation Clinic, Alena underwent a full range of rehabilitation activities and intensive classes: kinesiotherapy, massage, wax therapy, joint mobilization, correction according to Professor Kozyavkin's method, classes in the swimming pool, on the track, stepper, bars, mats, physiotherapy, motomed and even facial massage to relieve clamps and spasticity.
The greatest joy for the mother of a child with health problems is when the child spends time with health benefits. A normal child can just rest and live a normal life, but a special child cannot let everything go: the whole life is like a sport, but a special one, with one goal - health.
Thank you so much to everyone who makes recovery possible for Alena!
