Alice
Russolova
Alisa Rassolova from Kaliningrad has a fracture of the femoral head and necrosis. She urgently needed to undergo diagnostics and treatment in Israel.
Alisa has always been used to being the first: both in studies and in sports. From the age of three and a half she practiced rhythmic gymnastics at the regional school, won first places at competitions, received cups and medals. She had high hopes for her sporting future.
But in October 2022, everything changed. Alice began to complain of pain in her right hip - at first it seemed like a normal sprain after training. A week later, the girl began to limp, and the X-ray showed a terrible diagnosis - a fracture of the head of the femur with necrosis.
Since then, her life has been a series of pain, bed rest and traveling on crutches only when necessary. Her parents turned to many doctors, including specialists from the Turner Children's Orthopedic Center in St. Petersburg, but they were unable to help Alice in Russia - the doctors could not give Alice any help, did not make an accurate diagnosis and did not give any guarantees.
The only hope for salvation was treatment in Israel. Doctors at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center performed a complex combined surgery for Alice thanks to the funds you raised for her treatment.
On February 17, 2023, a very complex surgery, a shelf acetabuloplasty, was successfully performed to prevent further destruction of the femoral neck head and helped put the girl back on her feet.
The most difficult part of Alice's treatment is behind her. Now the girl is already at home in Kaliningrad, and a long and difficult period of rehabilitation is ahead of her. However, the girl is already able to walk on her own!
May all the good you do for our wards be sure to return to you in even greater measure!
