Azretali is a kind, active, purposeful teenager from Almaty. He studied at school, prepared for exams and dreamed of becoming an air traffic controller to benefit the world. Until recently, the guy was active in sports, but one injury changed his life.

In April 2022, during judo training, Azretali fell and broke the radius bone of his left forearm. He underwent surgery and was fitted with spokes. But the next day his parents noticed that his left hand was not moving. Later, the diagnosis was made - post-traumatic damage to the radial nerve, which resulted in complete paralysis of the left hand.

It's been a struggle ever since. EMG showed no activity in the muscles. A surgery was performed to restore the nerves, but as it turned out later, it was superficial and did not bring any results. For a whole year Azretali underwent intensive rehabilitation: physical therapy, physiotherapy, massage, stimulation - all without proper dynamics.

Doctors in Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey, China, Korea and Uzbekistan have offered one solution - muscle transplantation. However, this method cannot restore full mobility of the arm. And Azretali's parents did not accept it.

The chance came unexpectedly - during a consultation with Israeli neurosurgeon Shimon Rohkind, a world-recognized specialist in nerve repair. The professor saw the potential and assured: he could restore the hand function completely. But there is almost no time left - almost 4 years have passed since the injury, and the chances are melting away with each passing day.

The cost of the operation is 45,000 €. At the time of the appeal to the fund, the family had already collected more than half of this amount, and they only needed to raise €10,000. For an ordinary Kazakhstani family, this is a huge amount of money. But together we helped to make this last step towards the goal!

On May 13, 2025, Azretali was successfully operated on at Assuta Clinic (Israel). The nerve was seriously damaged, but the professor managed to do everything possible to restore it. Already immediately after the operation, the first positive changes and sensitivity in the hand appeared.
