Daniel
Vorobyev
The boy in this picture is named Daniel. He was born with a congenital spinal herniation of the lumbosacral spine. He had the hernia sac removed as an infant, then had his legs plastered and operated on multiple times. Rehabilitations were performed.
And 10 years later, after another MRI examination, the doctors discovered that the child had fixed spinal cord syndrome. Danya could hardly feel his legs. He moved around in a wheelchair and at home with the help of crutches. He had a constant headache and serious pelvic disorders.
The Assuta Clinic in Israel, where many of our patients have been treated, confirmed the diagnosis and readiness to perform the operation. The leading neurosurgeon of the clinic believed that there was a high probability that Daniel would be able to move independently, without crutches and wheelchairs. The pain had to go away and the regression of the hip joints had to stop. When the doctor told this to Daniel's mom, the boy cried. He had long dreamed of a bicycle that he could ride himself.
Thanks to your support we were able to raise $53,915 for the treatment. The operation was successful in 2019!
Parents' appreciation
Our dear benefactors!
We are incredibly grateful for the support, the kindness and the understanding!!! Danya and I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped with the fundraising. You have given my son a huge chance and hope for a full future! It is difficult to put all my gratitude in one word «thank you», because for our small family the amount for treatment seemed simply unaffordable, but we believed in a miracle - and it happened! Now my baby, my bunny, has better feeling in his legs, and soon his long-held dream will come true: he will be able to ride a bicycle and walk independently.
Thank you so much again for giving me hope!!!
