Spina Bifida
Age: 5 years old

The name Emil has a special meaning. It means «diligent» in Latin. Since birth, Emil has been working hard to restore his health. Together with his mother, they do everything possible to make the boy healthy.

Emil was born with a spinal cord pathology. The boy was diagnosed with spina bifida at the Children's Republican Clinical Hospital in Kazan. When the baby was 1.5 months old, he underwent his first surgery.

Every year the boy had to undergo an MRI under anesthesia, and the constant massages, physical therapy, physiotherapy and rehabilitation courses became a way of life and a test of strength for the whole family. Despite constant rehabilitation, the boy began to clubfoot and tiptoe.

Emil is a very cheerful child. He can read, loves to listen to his grandmother's stories, and he likes to build cities out of LEGO constructors. Emil also loves horses: when he comes to the organic farm, he doesn't forget to bring treats to the animals.

A diagnosis of fixed spinal cord syndrome is like a time bomb: the older a boy gets, the more his health deteriorates. Eventually it can lead to a wheelchair.

Thanks to your support in 2018, we were able to raise 51,543 $ for micro-neurosurgery with spinal reconstruction at Assuta Clinic.

Parents' appreciation

Our dear wizards and sorceresses!

You have no idea how important your help and support has been to us. I will never tire of thanking you for giving us a chance!

How scary it was to realize that my son could soon be in a wheelchair because his spinal cord was stretched like a string. Total strangers helped us achieve our goal - a miracle for my son! To each and every one of you, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks. I bow to you and God bless you and your loved ones! May He protect you from all hardships!
