Ibrahim
Mukhanbetzhan
The boy was born in Baikonur (Kazakhstan) and became the long-awaited third child in the family. His parents dreamed that he would grow up strong and healthy, but soon after the birth, doctors noticed a dimple in the area of the sacrum. After initial examinations, he was tentatively diagnosed with spina bifida. In December 2024, the parents were able to get to a face-to-face consultation with Israeli Professor Shimon Rohkind, a world specialist in the treatment of Spina Bifida, who flew to Astana.
The doctor confirmed the diagnosis and said the most important thing: Ibrahim has a chance to avoid irreversible consequences of the insidious diagnosis of spina bifida, but the surgery should be performed soon, before the baby turns 1.5 years old. Until the baby started walking, we needed to do everything we could to get him in for surgical treatment.
Thanks to your kind hearts and a great friend of our foundation, the entire amount needed for Ibrahim's surgery was raised.
On April 30, 2025, Ibrahim's surgery took place at ASSUTA Hospital in Israel. Prof. Shimon Rohkind did everything he had planned: he freed the spinal cord and spinal roots from fixation. Neuromonitoring results improved immediately after treatment. Many thanks to everyone for helping Ibrahim!
