Ksyusha has always been an active and cheerful child: she studied at school, took fitness classes, and loved to ride a bicycle, covering 20 kilometers for each ride. Her health began to deteriorate in September 2016, when the girl began to feel unexplained weakness. Every day the malaise increased, a severe degree of anemia developed. In October, the condition worsened so much that Xyusha was hospitalized. The cause of the deterioration was a malignant formation in the duodenum. Russian oncologists could not help, and the only chance for recovery was treatment abroad. The girl underwent her first surgery at the University Clinic in Mainz, Germany. The operation was successful, and the girl returned home.

Ksyusha entered the Higher School of Economics, which shows that she had the strength not only to fight the disease, but also to study brilliantly. However, after an examination in November 2017, multiple metastases in the liver with an ambiguous response, as well as new small foci of the disease were found. Therefore, doctors recommended a follow-up examination in January 2018 to prescribe further treatment.
