Masha is a smart and lively girl, she dances and swims, and makes progress in math. From the outside it is difficult to assume that Masha had any health problems, but the girl was born with a defect of the upper palate, which prevented her from speaking and created difficulties with nutrition: because of the cleft palate when swallowing, some of the liquid could get into the respiratory tract, which imposed certain strict restrictions on the child's daily regimen.
On February 20, 2017, surgeons at the Tel Aviv clinic performed a complex surgery on Masha, which lasted three hours and required the doctors' best efforts. According to Dr. David Leshem's assessment, the results of the surgery are very good, with no complications, and no further treatment will be needed.
On February 22, the girl was already discharged from the hospital, and on March 7, after a final consultation at the clinic, Masha and her mother safely returned to Moscow. After that, Masha was to have speech therapy sessions, which would consolidate the effect of the surgery and help her to achieve full recovery of her speech function.
