Baby Meyirim was born with a diagnosis of spina bifida. Her parents learned about the pathology even before she was born - at the third screening, when her mother was 30 weeks pregnant. Immediately after birth, on the tenth day of life, the girl underwent a complex operation to remove a spinal hernia and close the skin defect. Unfortunately, it was not possible to eliminate the problem.

Now the girl is 3 years old and despite numerous rehabilitations, the disease is progressing. Prof. Shimon Rohkind is ready to help Meyirim, but the cost of treatment is quite unaffordable for an ordinary family from Shymkent.

Meyirim's family consists of four people. The family budget is barely enough for daily needs, food and rehabilitation. Without our help, they will not be able to cope.

Feb. 10, Shimon Rohkind successfully performed spinal cord surgery on our patient at Assuta Hospital in Israel. The professor managed to do more than he had planned. The nerve roots were severely trapped and entangled in scars and adhesions. He very carefully freed all the nerves without damaging any of them. In the lower back (in the sacral area), the spinal cord was finally free - there was normal pulsation and proper fluid movement around it again.
