At the age of three, Misha started complaining of discomfort when walking. A long history of examinations and appeals to various specialists in search of the cause of the disease began.
It was only a year later that doctors were able to make an accurate diagnosis: neuropathy - a disorder of individual nerve endings. This was accompanied by impaired movement and even a 1 cm reduction in leg length. Misha was given a disability.
The family began an active struggle for the boy's health: medications, rehabilitation, physical therapy, physiotherapy, massage courses - but, unfortunately, the treatment did not yield results. Even special orthopedic shoes did not help.
Later the parents managed to get to Kiev for an examination, where it turned out that the sciatic nerve had been damaged as a result of an incorrect injection. This is how the final diagnosis of sciatic nerve neuroma came about.
Doctors in Kiev refused to perform the operation, fearing severe consequences. They could not remove the neuroma completely, leaving the risk of developing oncology.
Six months before he contacted the Foundation, Misha's condition began to deteriorate rapidly: his limp increased, his foot became deformed, his foot fell over on the outer rib when walking, and a painful corns formed. The boy could not move his toes or place his foot on the heel.
The parents turned to Israel's Assuta Clinic, where they were ready to perform a complex surgery to remove the tumor and corrective orthopedic surgery.
The collection for the treatment was done in conjunction with the family — together managed to raise €59,163.
Doctors at Assuta Clinic successfully performed the long-awaited surgery.
