Olga
Hussar
Olya was born a perfectly healthy and mobile child. But at the age of 2.5, her happy and carefree childhood came to an end. The girl began to experience twitching in her right leg, which eventually spread to her right arm. Doctors in Omsk thought it was epilepsy. But in 2014 at the Burdenko Clinic it turned out that Oli had Rasmussen's encephalitis - a rare autoimmune brain disease that is accompanied by epilepsy that cannot be treated with medication. The girl needed surgery.
In 2018, Ole underwent a life-saving treatment - a left-sided hemispherotomy of the brain - at the Schoen Clinic (Vogtarreuth) in Germany. The treatment went well, but not without complications. Olya developed persistent right-sided hemiparesis of the body. She did not walk, did not sit up, did not speak well. But thanks to regular rehabilitation, which the girl underwent several times a year, she began to gradually recover.
Now Olga is in remission, she is developing, she is not bothered by epilepsy attacks, but rehabilitation is now a way of life for her. To maintain positive dynamics, the girl needs to undergo them regularly.
Thanks to your help, since October 25, 2024, Olya has been undergoing an important three-week rehabilitation at Sher Európai Rehabilitációs Központ (Budapest, Hungary).
The therapy yielded incredible results: Olya learned to walk on the treadmill for up to 15 minutes, hold difficult positions and stand on one leg. The girl also began to actively use her right hand to perform exercises with less effort. Rehabilitation brought noticeable progress and strengthened her faith in recovery.
Friends, thank you so much to each and every one of you for helping Olga!
