Omar
Yernaruli
Omar's parents were waiting for the birth of their son with great trepidation. They were sure that the baby would be born healthy, as all the examinations carried out during pregnancy pointed to this.
Omar's parents found out that he had a serious pathology as soon as he was born. He had a large lump in the area of his lower back. Doctors diagnosed spina bifida on the first day of the boy's life. And on the second - performed an operation to remove the spinal hernia.
The surgery had complications, but was able to free the boy's spinal cord from fixation. Unfortunately, not permanently, but only for two years. During this time, the boy even learned to walk.
However, Omar's condition began to deteriorate rapidly. MRI results showed that the boy's spinal cord was fixed. Omar again needed surgical treatment.
The family turned to different doctors for help. None of them gave a guarantee that the boy would not have complications and fixation after treatment, except one - Prof. Shimon Rohkind from Israel's Assuta Clinic. The probability of re-fixation of the spinal cord after his surgery is only 2%.
Thanks to the help of kind hearts and one generous person, we were able to close Omar's collection in a timely manner.
On June 28, 2024, Dr. Shimon Rohkind performed spinal cord surgery on Omar and freed him from fixation and pathological tissue.
Three months after treatment, the boy grew 8 centimeters, got rid of excruciating pain and problems with urination and stool.
A huge thank you to every kind hearted person who helped make a difference in Omar's life!
