Petya is one of a twin. He was born on December 7, 2007, together with his brother Borya. The boy had health problems from birth.

At the age of two months, the baby went to hospital with severe jaundice, where he spent almost two months. Then he was diagnosed with hepatitis. The parents did not even suspect that it turned out to be wrong. The boy grew and developed in the same way as his peers. But in 2019 he had a serious deterioration: Petya began to complain of heart pain, he had shortness of breath when walking. He was under the supervision of a cardiologist, gastroenterologist, neurologist, endocrinologist, pulmonologist and hematologist, but none of the treatments that the doctors prescribed did not alleviate his condition. It was only recently that the correct diagnosis was made.

Petey has a rare condition called Abernathy's Malformation. This is a vascular anomaly in which there is no portal vein and venous blood from the intestines and spleen bypasses the liver without being cleaned.

The only treatment method that doctors in Russia were able to offer Pete was a liver transplant. But the boy's parents managed to find an alternative. Doctors at the children's department of the Schneider Clinic have already repeatedly performed two-stage operations using a unique method, after which the livers of children with the same diagnosis as Pete's liver self-healed and no further transplantation was required.

There are no such operations in Russia, so we can say that this is the only chance for Petya to avoid a liver transplant and become healthy. To give this chance to Petya, we raised 45,000 $, after which the doctors of the Schneider Clinic performed the first stage of treatment on the boy. The operation was successful.
