Cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia
Age: 13 years old

Roma is from Russia. The boy has cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia. Despite his diagnosis, Roma has been involved in professional sports since the age of three. During the years of hard work the boy has already achieved great success, overcoming many difficulties, but there is one that Roma could not win without our help. It's spasticity.⠀

Roma was born a healthy baby. At birth he received 9/9 on the Apgar scale, but by the age of 6 months the boy's development began to deviate from the norm. Doctors diagnosed him with cerebral palsy and predicted a future in a wheelchair.

But neither Roma nor his parents were going to accept the diagnosis and give up. Regular rehabilitation and constant training paid off. Roma can not only walk on his own, but is also a professional alpine skiing athlete.

At the age of 3, Roma became one of the first participants in the Dream Skis project. His passion for alpine skiing had an unexpected result. The boy started studying at the Moscow Alpine Ski Academy.

Intense training and successes at competitions did not go unnoticed. Roma passed a strict selection process and was included in the junior Moscow Paralympic alpine skiing (PODA) team.

We believe that the day is not far off when the boy will also play for the national team - his will to win and determination will be enough for ten ⠀.

Roma is actively growing and his body has become severely stiff with spasticity. It affects his gait, back and large motor skills.

Thanks to your kind hearts we were able to raise 17,300 € in time for the boy's treatment with Dr. Bernius at American Hospital. The surgery took place on June 13, 2024 and went perfectly.
Roma has successfully completed his rehabilitation and can now fully live his best life!

Thank you so much for giving Roma a chance at a healthy future.
