Sofia
Khvostikova
When the two twin sisters Khvostikov were born into the world, there was no limit to parental happiness! However, doctors did not immediately warn that the younger girl, Sofia, had a congenital malformation.
On arrival home from the maternity ward, one of the babies' parents discovered a large bump in the sacrum, scoliosis and pelvic misalignment. The girl grew and developed, but every day new difficulties arose: it was difficult for her to start walking and balance. The spinal cord surgery was unsuccessful, and new complications appeared.
For 9 years of her life, Sofya has already undergone 10 operations of different severity (neurosurgical, urological, orthopedic) in different clinics of Russia. But, unfortunately, the situation continued to worsen. Despite daily exercises, massage and LFK, the disease progressed. The girl gradually stopped walking due to pain in her back and legs.
But Sofia did not give up! Despite her poor health, she continued with great desire to go to secondary and music schools, to study piano, vocal, handicrafts and to try very hard, no matter what it cost her! She dreamed of joyfully running and jumping like her peers around her.
Thanks to your support we were able to raise 36,429 $. The operation was successful! Sofia's dream was realized in Assuta Clinic (Israel).
Parents' appreciation
Sofia Khvostikova's family would like to express their gratitude to the founders and volunteers of the Together Forever Foundation, as well as to all the benefactors who helped us to raise an unaffordable amount for our family to pay for our daughter's treatment in Israel.
Thanks to your help, we were able to take a huge step towards improving Sophia's health and therefore her quality of life.
We would like to say a special thank you to the Foundation for their trust and moral support, which gave us strength and confidence that Sofia will be fine now.
