Tanat
Muslim
Tanat Muslim from Ulanbel village (Kazakhstan). The boy has a rare congenital disease spina bifida, which is characterized by a malformation of the spine and is often accompanied by severe neurological, orthopedic and urological pathologies.
Usually spina bifida is diagnosed in the fetus still on ultrasound, which is carried out to the future mom during pregnancy. But the results of all the conducted examinations of the boy's mother were normal. The parents learned about Muslim's diagnosis only after his birth. They had never heard of spina bifida before, so they did not even suspect the difficulties they would have to face.
In the summer of 2021, doctors discovered a fibroma in the gluteal region and performed surgery to remove it. The parents sincerely hoped that this treatment could get rid of Muslim's spinal cord fixation as well. But the miracle did not happen. On the contrary. After the operation, the boy's condition began to deteriorate rapidly. He developed pain in his legs and in the lumbar region. His right foot became deformed. Every day it became more and more difficult for the boy, who, despite his diagnosis, still learned to walk, to take steps.
Thanks to the help of kind hearts and a great friend of the foundation who completely closed the boy's collection, Muslim was able to get to Prof. Rohkind for treatment in time.
On July 5, 2024, the doctor performed surgery on the boy. Muslim's case was initially considered inoperable, but the professional succeeded in doing everything planned. Prof. Shimon freed Muslim's spinal cord and spinal canal from fixation and pathological tissues. The operation was a success.
Thank you to everyone who helped us make a difference in Muslim's life!
