Vera
Vasilieva

Cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia
Age: 11 years old

Vera was born without signs of life, she was given a heartbeat, connected to artificial ventilation and taken to the intensive care unit. The baby found herself at home only after 1.5 months. And from those very days her family's struggle for Vera's health began.

The girl has years of intensive training in Russia and abroad, many methods tried and tested. Each therapy had a positive effect: Vera learned to crawl, sit, stand with support, take steps with a walker, and manipulate her hands. Vera's family does not want to stop at what has been achieved, because they are sure that this is not the limit of the girl's abilities. Thanks to your support, Vera has already been to Vladimir Kozyavkin's rehabilitation clinic in Cyprus twice - in the spring and fall of 2018.

The family hopes that Prof. Kozyavkin's system of intensive neurophysiological rehabilitation will be able to help Vera!

Thanks to your support it was possible to raise 3,560 € for the girl's treatment in 2020.

Parents' appreciation

This rehabilitation course was very difficult emotionally. Vera resisted the sessions, but the therapists were able to find an approach. From the results: after hand therapy Vera started to use her right paretic hand more actively, the interconnection between hands improved, she partially learned to drink from a glass. After LFK the muscles of legs and back became stronger, she walked a lot in a walker, developing the right gait pattern. Vera began to sit more confidently, and her back became more straight. After the course, many complex turns and questions appeared in her speech, and her memory improved.

We would like to express our gratitude to the staff of the Foundation for their help! Without your support we would not have been able to afford such high-quality and effective rehabilitation for our daughter!
