Victor
Mestnikov
Vitya is the fourth child in a family of six children. When his parents applied to the Foundation, he was in seventh grade. The boy always helped his mother and took care of his younger sisters Angelina and Diana. Vitya studied well and repeatedly won prizes at Olympiads and competitions. In his free time he is fond of freestyle wrestling, in which he also won several medals at all-Russian tournaments. Since the first grade, the boy has been dancing and once won a song and dance contest.
Trouble came in 2015, when Vitya fell into a coma. A vessel ruptured in the child's brain. The diagnosis was arteriovenous malformation, a congenital pathology that had not manifested itself before. Vita underwent emergency surgery on the brain vessels, but after that he could not breathe on his own because of the injury to his larynx sustained during resuscitation procedures.
The ability to breathe and speak again was restored by surgeons from the Israeli clinic Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov), from where a request for Vita's help was received. On June 20, 2018, at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov), the boy underwent a diagnostic catherization of cerebral vessels. Based on the results of the procedure, it was determined that the vascular malformation had closed and no further brain surgeries would be needed. On June 21, Vitya was already discharged from the hospital.
Thank you to everyone who took part in Victor's fate.
