Nersesyan
Nastya is a charming little girl, who at the age of 6 could already read and count, liked to draw, sculpt from plasticine, go to classes in the swimming pool, but most of all she liked school preparation classes, where she dreamed of going together with her older sister. The little girl has a serious diagnosis - cerebral palsy. Because of it, the girl could not walk on her own yet.
Nastusha was born at 31 weeks of pregnancy. Her weight was only 1600 g. The girl did not breathe and screamed immediately. Nastya spent the first few days of her life on a ventilator, after which she was transferred to the intensive care unit, where on the 10th day she had a cerebral hemorrhage. Doctors diagnosed her with periventricular leukomalacia of the brain and partial atrophy of the optic nerve. It took two months before Nastya started eating and gaining weight. During this time, the parents studied a lot of information about their daughter's disease and realized that they should act immediately after discharge from the hospital.
At the age of 2 months the girl started practicing Voita therapy 4 times a day. Over time, Nastya began to combine these sessions with Bobat and Medek therapy. She grew and developed, underwent rehabilitation in Russia, Poland and Czech Republic and made progress. But as the girl grew, so did the spasticity in her muscles, which restricted her movements more and more every year.
In June 2020, Nastya underwent an SDR (spasticity reversal) surgery. In the two years since the operation, the girl has learned many new skills and started to walk independently in a walker. But everyone knew that Nastya's capabilities were much greater. She could learn to walk on her own!
Unfortunately, the financial resources of the girl's parents were exhausted by years of struggle for her healthy future, and they really needed our support on the way to their dream.
Thanks to your kind hearts, in November 2022, Nastya was able to undergo a 3-week rehabilitation course at the Olinek Intensive Care Center. During the course, the girl learned new skills, became more confident in holding her back and even learned to walk independently along the window sill. Thank you to everyone who helped change Nastya's life for the better.
Parents' appreciation
Friends, we are very grateful to you for the opportunity you gave Nastya. She has changed a lot during this course. Her back is excellent, and she has even become taller due to the fact that her shoulders have dropped and her neck has been stretched. As for her legs, she has never had such support on her feet. She started to walk in crabbing on the street and on the stairs, holding on to the railing, and she has learned to stand so confidently that she can independently walk along window sills and tables without a safety net, which was quite impossible before our intensive. This is a very big success for us. I am very happy that thanks to you we were able to go through this rehabilitation course. You have provided important and meaningful help for our girl's development and independence. We continue to work and fight for the future of our little girl. We will definitely tell you about our successes, which will be yet to come.
