Ayaulym
Sarsenbayeva
Friends, we open an urgent additional collection for our ward Ayaulym Sarsenbayeva.
On February 13, 2026, the long-awaited Ayaulim neurosurgery with Professor Shimon Rohkind took place at the Assuta Clinic. It was a success. The doctor freed the spinal roots from pathological tissue. During the surgery, the signals from her legs improved significantly, which is a very good sign. Shimon says that in time Ayaulym will learn to walk and even run.
But for this prognosis to come true, another orthopedic surgery on the feet and ankles is urgently needed. Ayaulym has preserved movement in her legs, has sensitivity, and her muscles work, albeit weakly. They must be developed, but it will be impossible to do it without surgery.
5 years ago, after an unsuccessful spinal cord surgery in Kazakhstan, when Ayaulym was only one year old, doctors forbade her mother to put the girl on her feet so as not to aggravate the situation. Her mother had consultations with several orthopedists, who unanimously said that the girl could only crawl.
Over the years, Ayaulym's muscles have weakened even more and her foot deformities have progressed. Now the girl needs to correct the position of her feet, relocate tendons and stabilize joints in order to put her on her feet and teach her to walk.
The balance in 10 000 € from the collection of Alisa Batchenko, whose treatment required less than the amount we collected, we transferred for Ayaulym.
Ayaulym's emergency collection is closed!
Feb. 26. Dr. Naum Simanowski performed orthopedic surgery on our patient's feet and ankles at the Assuta Clinic. On the left foot, the doctor lengthened the Achilles tendon, and on the right foot, he used a comprehensive approach, opening the foot completely and freeing the tendon from contractures. The result of the surgery is Ayaulim's flat feet. This is a big victory in the girl's case.
Now she will have to be verticalized and trained to walk: first in fiberglass casts, then in orthoses. It will be a long but very important process.
Thank you, kind hearts, for this miracle. We will look forward to Ayaulym's first steps.
