Dmitry
Mukhlyakov
Dima is one of the twins, he was born at 34 weeks by caesarean section. Already at birth, the boy's head was much larger than normal. He could not breathe on his own, so he was immediately taken to the intensive care unit and put on ventilator.
Dima needed a surgical intervention to install a shunt. Since the neurosurgeon at the children's regional hospital refused to perform the operation, his parents had to look for a doctor who could perform it. And they found him.
After the operation, Dima began to feel much better, was recovering steadily, and he was even taken off the ventilator. But on the eve of the New Year holidays, only the doctors on duty remained in the hospital, who decided to reconnect the boy to the ventilator as a precaution. After that, they could not take Dima off the ventilator.
As time went on, the boy began to feel worse and needed surgery again, but the doctors refused to perform it. Before the boy was discharged home, the doctors installed a tracheostomy and gastrostomy and gave him a home ventilator, warning him that he would not be able to live without it.
But the love and care of parents work real miracles! Once at home, Dima immediately started to feel better: he began to breathe on his own, eat better, play with his sisters, but because of the size of his head, the boy could not stand up.
Dima's parents had already applied for help many times to doctors in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Syktyvkar, but were refused everywhere. They still managed to find a clinic where they could help their son - the Israeli clinic «Schneider».
Friends, it was not an easy collection: it involved a whole army of caring hearts, which were found by our foundation and Dima's mom. In parallel with us, she actively participated in the promotion of the collection. Together we collected the necessary 44,305 $ for Dima's treatment (our fund - 24,603 $, the rest of the amount - mom).
Thanks to you, Dima fell into the hands of the best specialists of the Israeli clinic «Schneider». They performed the most complicated skull plastic surgery, reduced his skull size, fully preserving the brain structures, and gave Dima a new life.
