Ilaria from Abakan. A month ago, she rode a bicycle on her own for the first time. For most healthy children, this is an ordinary joy, but for Ilaria, it is a victory that represents years of treatment and seven surgeries.

Ilaria was born with a diagnosis of spina bifida and paralytic hip dysplasia. The doctors' prognoses were bleak; they said she would be bedridden. But, fortunately, thanks to her mother's boundless love and a tenacious struggle against her diagnoses, Ilaria walks independently and climbs stairs today.

In 2025, Ilaria underwent orthopedic surgery to reposition her joints into their original anatomical alignment, as well as a bone graft surgery to replace the metal hardware in her left leg. These procedures helped preserve Ilaria's ability to walk independently. However, more than a year has passed since the treatment, and the bones have healed favorably. The girl needs to have the metal fixators removed as soon as possible, before they become overgrown with tissue, otherwise it will be significantly more difficult to extract them later.

Dr. Naum Simanovsky at Assuta Medical Center (Israel) is ready to help the girl. In a single surgery, he will remove the metal implants and correct the valgus deformity in her left knee. After treatment, the girl will be able to continue walking on her own.

June 19 Dr. Naum Simanovski successfully performed surgery: he removed the metal implants previously placed on both hips and inserted a corrective screw into the growth plate of the left knee joint, which will correct the knee's valgus deformity over the course of a year.

The funds raised were also enough for an important urological examination. It took place July 8 from Dr. Kochetov. He gave detailed recommendations on how to maintain the girl's kidney health as she gets older.
