Christina Victoria is a smart and beautiful girl. She was born absolutely healthy. Since the age of two, she has been actively engaged in ballet and gymnastics. Choreography teachers said she has talent and a bright future in ballet is awaiting her. The girl sang, drew, danced, studied well at school, and was hardly ever sick. But one year ago the girl's life has changed and now she urgently needs our help.
In 2023, a tumor was discovered behind Christina Victoria's left eye. Her parents immediately sought help from doctors at the Morozov Clinic in Moscow, Russia. The tumor turned out to be benign - pilocytic astrocytoma, but the biopsy was unfortunately mishandled by the doctors, damaging Christina Victoria's eye, as well as the nerves and muscles around it. Now, the girl's left eyebrow does not lift, her eye does not fully close, the pupil looks towards the nose and does not react to light. Most alarmingly, the tumor continues to grow, pressing on the brain, pushing the left eye out of its socket, and moving towards the right, robbing it of vision.
To stop the tumor's growth and restore their daughter's vision, Christina Victoria's parents started treatment with proton beam therapy at the Chulalongkorn Comprehensive Cancer Center (Bangkok, Thailand). After several sessions of proton therapy, vision in the right eye began to return. Now, there is great hope that her vision will be fully restored, and the treatment will permanently eliminate the tumor. To enable the girl to complete the full course of proton therapy, 35,000 euros was needed.
Thanks to the kind hearts this important fundraising was closed on March 17, 2024. We thank everyone who helped us to do that. As soon as Kristina Victoria completes the course of treatment, we will share the news with you.
