Salomia is from Moldova. The girl grows up in a large and friendly family. She is the third of nine children raised by her parents. Throughout her life, she grew and developed according to her age, but in 2018 she began experiencing dangerous episodes: sudden weakness in her legs followed by loss of consciousness and fainting. There are no warning signs for these episodes; they always happen unexpectedly.

For six long years, her parents searched for a way to cure their daughter, but none of the doctors in Moldova could diagnose her accurately. This was only achieved recently. Salomia has been diagnosed with Moyamoya disease, a condition of the brain that occurs when the walls of the internal carotid arteries—the vessels supplying blood to the most important areas of the brain—thicken and narrow. As a result, the blood flow to the brain decreases, leading to strokes.

Salomia has already had one stroke, which has significantly affected her gait. To prevent another stroke, she urgently needs surgery. Doctors in Moldova cannot help Salomia; many of them have never even heard of Moyamoya disease. The only chance for salvation is costly surgical treatment by Professor Nadia Khan at the Children’s Hospital Moyamoya Center (Zurich, Switzerland). For a large family from Moldova, 200,000 euros is an absolutely unaffordable amount for their daughter's treatment.

Thanks to your kind hearts and the help of one generous wizard, we were able to raise the entire amount needed for Salomia's treatment. A huge thank you, dear friends! We’ll keep you updated on any news.
