Savely was born at 28 weeks gestation, weighing 990 grams and measuring 36 cm in height. Two weeks later, the boy was transferred to another clinic. The transportation was made without an incubator and the boy fell into a coma, but he came to his senses after 5 days. The boy was on mechanical ventilation for 2.5 months before he came home. At the age of one year, Savely was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Sience then the boy regularly underwent numerous rehabilitations in Russia and Kazakhstan. At the age of 7, Savely underwent SDR surgery on his spine. It was successfull.

Savely is 10 years old. Despite his diagnosis, he already has achieved great results - he studies at the gymnasium and is an excellent student, loves to sing and reads poems well. He is hardworking and make success in sports. He recently passed the qualifying round in wheelchair tennis and can become a participant of the Kazakhstan youth Paralympic team. But the main Savely's dream is to leave the wheelchair and walk independently.

To make this dream a reality, the boy needs to undergo a unique operation by Dr. Nuzzo at the American medical center Overlook. The uniqueness of the surgery lies in the minimal intervention with the maximum preservation of functional and motor abilities. Dr. Nuzzo increases the volume of the acetabulum, where the head of the femur fits, with an innovative material - a sponge that is subsequently covered with its own cartilage tissue, and the material dissolves over time. This treatment will give Savely a chance to fulfill his cherished dream and walk independently.

Thanks to your kind and compassionate hearts, the fundraising was closed on April 6, 2024. The boy's surgery at the American medical center Overlook is scheduled for May 2024. We will share new with you as soon as we receive them.
