Ayaulym
Sarsenbayeva
For the first six years of her life, Ayulym could only move on crutches, but thanks to the help of kindhearted people, she began to learn to walk and recently was able to stand with support for the first time. Due to serious changes in her right hip joint, Ayulym needs urgent surgery.
In February 2026, Ayulym underwent two surgeries at Assuta Medical Center. Professor Shimon Rokhkind removed the spinal cord from the fixation, and Dr. Naum Simanovsky corrected the deformities of the feet and ankle joints. After the treatment, the girl’s movement and sensitivity in her legs improved, and the pain decreased. Most importantly, she was able to stand on her feet and learn to walk using walkers.
For Ayulym and her mother, this was the fulfillment of a long-held dream. But during rehabilitation, the girl began to experience severe pain in her right hip joint. An examination revealed a high-grade paralysis and dysplasia. The joint began to deteriorate, and classes for learning to walk had to be stopped.
According to Dr. Naum Simanovsky, Ayulym still has the potential to move independently using braces and walkers. In order for her to develop this skill, a reconstructive surgery on her right hip joint is necessary.
Treatment must not be delayed. Further changes may become irreversible, and recovery of joint function will be significantly more difficult. The surgery must be performed as soon as possible.
Thanks to the great friend of the foundation who fully covered Ayulym’s expenses, the girl will be able to undergo surgery as early as November. As soon as we have any news, we will definitely share it with you.
